LEWISTON, Idaho — One person died from a crash in Lewiston early Saturday morning. Police are investigating if the crash is related to reports of shots fired just moments before.
According to Lewiston Police, reports of shots fired came in around 4:30 a.m. in the area of Preston Avenue though no victims could be found.
At around 4:40 a.m., police responded to the area of 10th and Warner for a crash.
LPD said a Chevy Malibu struck a tree in the area and had significant front end damage.
Three people were inside the car with serious injuries and taken to the hospital. One of the victims died at the hospital.
Investigators said the car was traveling west on Warner Avenue and left the roadway, going over the sidewalk and hitting the tree.
Police are investigating whether the crash was related to the reports of shots fired called earlier in the morning.
LPD says the investigation is ongoing. The names of those in the crash are not being released at this time.
