SPOKANE, Wash. — A man wanted by Spokane Police for murder was captured in Greeley, Colorado this week.
Police said in the early morning hours of July 7, 2024, officers were called to the area of West Courtland and North Cedar in northwest Spokane for a call about a drive-by shooting.
Once they arrived, police said they found a teen girl who was found shot. She died at the scene.

Spokane Police said that, over eight months later, 19-year-old Cougar Devereaux Jr. was arrested on Tuesday by law enforcement in Colorado for her murder.
Devereaux had been established as a suspect in Kapustin’s death by several local detectives last year, but they had received information that Devereaux left the state after the shooting.
Police recently found out he was in Greeley, and alerted law enforcement and the FBI there to ask for help in catching him.
Devereaux is now awaiting extradition to Spokane.
