PONDERAY, Idaho — Police evacuated a Walmart in Ponderay on Sunday afternoon, according to Ponderay Police Department.
Around 1 p.m. on March 16, Ponderay PD responded to a report of a man with a knife at the Walmart near US-95 and Kootenai Cutoff Road.
When police arrived, they evacuated the store with the help of Walmart staff.
Ponderay PD said the man with a knife was experiencing a mental health crisis. He was eventually transported to a nearby hospital for minor self-inflicted injuries.
The store was reopened around 1:45 p.m.
