Tyra Banks and some of her “Coyote Ugly” co-stars recently reunited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the iconic film. For those of us who grew up watching this movie, it’s hard to believe it’s been a quarter of a century since we first saw Violet Sanford take the stage and light up the screen with the fierce and fearless Coyote Ugly crew.
“Coyote Ugly” wasn’t just a fun, early-2000s film—it was a movement. It made us all dream of being bold, confident, and maybe even dancing on a bar one day. I know I did! When I was younger, I told myself that once I was old enough to drink, I would find my way onto a bar, just like in the movie. And guess what? That dream actually came true!
I was out in downtown San Diego celebrating my friend’s bachelorette weekend when we stumbled upon a real Coyote Ugly bar. Of course, we couldn’t help but go in. Since we were decked out in all the appropriate bachelorette attire—penis-shaped everything—we were quickly ushered onto the bar top. It was a dream come true! The energy, the music, the thrill of dancing under the neon lights—it felt just like stepping into the movie itself. We laughed, we cheered, and we owned that moment just like the Coyotes did.
Seeing Tyra Banks and the cast come together again brings back all the nostalgia. Their reunion is a reminder of just how much this movie meant to so many of us. It wasn’t just about dancing on bars—it was about female empowerment, chasing your dreams, and embracing your wild side.
Did “Coyote Ugly” inspire you too? If so, you’re not alone! Cheers to 25 years of this unforgettable film and the memories it continues to bring us. Now, who’s ready to dance on a bar?
