PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State men’s basketball season has quickly spiraled beyond repair. When it feels like it can’t get worse: a conference opponent just made history on their home court, Saturday.
Santa Clara beat the Cougs by 30 points and in the process made 23 three point shots. That’s not only a school record, but the Broncos also broke a WCC record for most made three-pointers in a single game. They shot over 60% from beyond the arc.
As far as the Cougs go, Nate Calmese led the team in scoring with 20 points, which marked his ninth 20 point performance this season. Ethan Price followed close behind with 19 points.
With the 109-79 loss, WSU has fallen to 16-13 with a 6-10 conference record.
The Cougars will host San Diego for senior night Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
