SPOKANE, Wash. — More people than ever were making use of Spokane International Airport last year.
The airport reported that more than 4.2 million passengers used the airport last year, a 3.2% increase from the previous busiest year ever recorded in 2023.
“2024 was the first step in a bold new era for Spokane International Airport – one marked by growing air service connectivity, continuing infrastructure investments, and the introduction of a new airport experience brought to life through the Airport’s TREX Program,” said Ezra Eckhardt, Spokane Airport Board Chair.
The first phase of the Airport’s multi-year Terminal Renovation and Expansion (TREX) Program opened last year, adding three new gates, ticket counters and more amenities to the airport’s existing Concourse C West Terminal. The next phase of this program, which would replace ground boarding gates and upgrade Concourse C East Terminal’s existing gates also began construction last year.
Spokane International Airport is the second largest commercial service airport in the state of Washington.
The airport says those record-breaking numbers are only expected to keep growing this year. This summer alone, the number of seats available leaving the airport is 15% higher than last year. The airport says this is due in part to the expanded services that are being offered this summer.
These expanded services include more nonstop flights to Denver, Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas.
