SPOKANE, Wash. — Three downtown businesses were hit with flooding for the second time in just over two months.
Overnight on Thursday, a pipe burst at the Coeur d’Alene Plaza Apartments above O’Doherty’s Irish Grille, Petunia and Loomis and Boo Radley’s.
Water leaked through the ceiling in all three businesses, putting a damper on Valentine’s Day business.
All three businesses reopened shortly afterwards, but some are still dealing with lasting effects from the last flood.
In early December, an apartment fire above the shops set of sprinklers, which led to a burst pipe and significant water damage to the businesses below.
The shop Petunia and Loomis had just moved in weeks beforehand.
Now, they are trying to cope with the second flood.
“A lot of [business] has been put on hold because we don’t know like… is a wall going to need to be taken out? Are they going to need to replace the floor? When are they going to do that? And so, a lot of things have been put on hold since December, and then this kind of puts even more things on hold,” said Jesse McCauley of Petunia and Loomis.
