POST FALLS, Idaho — The Lake City Center has been awarded a $15,000 grant from the Forever Idaho Fund of the Idaho Community Foundation to support its Home Delivered Meals Program.
According to the Lake City Center, the program provides nutritious meals to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those facing hardship due to illness, financial strain, or other barriers.
It serves a critical role in improving the health and well-being of homebound individuals who may otherwise struggle to obtain proper nutrition.
The center said it delivers over 5,000 meals monthly to seniors in Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls, Hayden, Hauser, Dalton Gardens, and Huetter, all at no charge.
Lake City Center addresses food insecurity and social isolation in the community’s most vulnerable seniors.
In addition to home-delivered meals, the center offers on-site congregate meals, wellness checks, and social activities.
Its programs aim to foster a supportive environment where seniors can gather, share meals, and receive essential services.
