If you’ve been sick this flu season, you’re not alone.
Washington’s Department of Health says flu around the state remains high and 65 lab-confirmed flu deaths have occurred statewide. DOH also notes the number of deaths is likely under-reported.
According to DOH, most of the deaths occurred in elderly people or those with underlying conditions.
DOH says there are 15 more deaths compared to this time last year season, but fewer than the 201 deaths from the 22-23 flu season.
In eastern Washington, emergency room visit related to the flu are up this season compared to the 23-24 season.
