MOSES LAKE, Wash. — A man was arrested for leading police on a high-speed car chase and attempting to steal a patrol car early Sunday morning, according to Washington State Patrol.
Around midnight on January 26, WSP said troopers clocked a car driving 93 miles per hour in a 50-mile-per hour-zone on SR-17 near Patton Blvd.
When WSP attempted to pull the car over, the car continued to speed, ran a red light and turned right onto Randolph Rd.
The 23-year-old driver soon lost control of the car and crashed into a utility pole near 24th Ave. and Randolph Rd.
He then got out of his car and tried to escape on foot.
At one point, the driver attempted to get into the driver’s side of a locked patrol car.
He was eventually arrested, with the help of Moses Lake Police Department, and charged with multiple offenses including eluding police, DUI, resisting arrest and attempted car theft.
