SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Police are investigating a shooting in north Spokane.
According to Spokane Police Department there was a shooting, and an officer did fire his weapon.
SPD said one suspect is in custody.
According to campus security at Lidgerwood Elementary, there is no need to go into secure and teach or lockdown.
Lidgerwood Elementary sent this message out to the families:
We are aware of an emergency incident that occurred this afternoon in our neighborhood. Law enforcement have advised that the situation is contained and there is no need for schools to enter emergency procedures.Buses and walkers will be diverted to routes that avoid the area of the incident. Families should avoid Lidgerwood Street between Everett and Rowan, it is blocked between Rowan and Everett. Walkers should use Addison if regular routes are blocked.The safety and wellbeing of SPS students is our top priority. We appreciate your cooperation and patience.
The intersection at North and Lidgerwood to Sanson is blocked off.
