OLYMPIA, Wash – Tracking trends of seasonal hazards and health concerns just got easier, with a dashboard launched by the Washington Department of Health.
The dashboard provides weekly data on everything from carbon monoxide injuries in winter to drownings and asthma-related illness in the summer months.
The goal, the state says, is to empower communities, healthcare providers and policymakers to reduce risk and hopefully save lives.
“This dashboard helps Washingtonians understand and prepare for the health dangers winter can pose,” said Dr. Tao Sheng Kwan-Gett, Chief Science Officer at DOH. “With clear maps and graphs and accessible information, our goal is to keep our communities safe and informed about severe weather events.”
You can search by county and y0ou can also see data related to car crashes overlaid with temperature trends.
