CHENEY, Wash. — A man who was wanted since 2023 for a violent assault was arrested in Cheney on Saturday.
According to Cheney Police Department, Andrew Brady was arrested on December 28 after a year-long investigation.
Brady is accused of attacking a victim near West 1st Street and K Street in Cheney in December 2023. CPD said Brady hit the victim in the head with a hammer and then continually kicked and punched the victim once they had fallen to the ground.
After the assault, CPD said Brady left the scene and made his way to Nevada and Oregon.
Over the next year, CPD teamed up with the U.S. Marshals Service and Spokane Police Department to investigate and search for Brady.
Law enforcement found Brady on December 28 and arrested him after a brief foot chase.
Brady was booked into the local jail on charges of assault, robbery and resisting arrest. His bail was set at $100,500.
