SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Downtown Spokane is transforming into a winter wonderland this holiday season with events, activities, and festive attractions scheduled through December.
Here’s what visitors can look forward to:
Merry & Magical Kick-off (November 23, 3–7:30 p.m.): Celebrate the start of the holiday season with live entertainment, treats, and festive fun at River Park Square and along Post Street.Kids Holiday Hunt (November 29–December 22): Kids 12 and under can search for holiday characters hidden in downtown businesses for a chance to win a grand prize on December 23.Free Horse and Carriage Rides (November 30–December 24): Enjoy complimentary rides through Riverfront Park every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.Small Business Saturday & 12 Deals of Downtown:(November 30): Be one of the first 100 shoppers at Auntie’s Bookstore to receive a swag bag filled with gift cards and other goodies.(December 12–23): Follow @downtownspokane on social media for daily deals and surprise giveaways from local businesses.Holiday Window Display Contest (December 5–22): Presented by Visit Spokane, vote for your favorite decorated storefronts downtown. Five lucky voters will win $50 gift cards.Expanded Safety Patrols (November 21–December 31): To enhance safety, the Downtown Spokane Partnership has hired GoJoe Patrol to work with downtown Ambassadors, providing patrols Thursday through Saturday.
One of the season’s highlights is the debut of Merry & Magical Lane on Post Street, a collaboration between the Downtown Spokane Partnership and Visit Spokane. The festive area includes a newly lit pedestrian alley between Post and Lincoln streets, adding to the holiday magic.
Downtown Spokane’s holiday offerings promise something for everyone while supporting local businesses and creating community cheer.
