EPHRATA, Wash — All schools in the Ephrata School District are closed Friday due to threats against multiple schools.
The district sent out that message to families late Thursday night.
Initially, the district planned to hold classes with locked school doors and extra law enforcement but then sent out a second message hours later saying all classes and events would be canceled.
These closures include classes, blood drives, sports practices, club meetings, and a Cabaret performance.
“The safety of our students and staff continues to be our top priority. We appreciate your patience as we work through this emerging situation,” said the district in a message to families.
The district said they are working closely with local law enforcement to investigate these threats.
No word on what exactly the threats were.
This is a developing story.
