SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — A Spokane County Jail inmate was found dead in his cell hours after appearing in court Friday afternoon.
According to the county commissioner’s office, the 36-year-old inmate was declared deceased around 4 p.m.
Officials said he had returned from court around 2 p.m. Friday. He was found on the floor of his cell around 3:31 p.m.
There were no signs of trauma at the time of death.
The name of the deceased has not been released.
The cause of death is still under investigation.
