GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — A Mattawa woman died and four other people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash Friday night near Mattawa.
According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, 33-year-old Silvia Cruz was driving east from the intersection of Road 24-Southwest when her car was hit by a car traveling south on Road U-Southwest.
Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene. Her three juvenile passengers were injured and taken to a hospital in Richland for treatment.
The driver of the other car was also hurt and taken to the hospital.
The Sheriff’s Office said the driver that hit Cruz is under suspicion of DUI and speeding.
