ATHOL, Idaho — The U.S. Marshals Service is looking for a Florida man convicted of trying to meet a child and on the run in North Idaho.
According to the Marshals Service, the Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force attempted to arrest 42-year-old Christian Bert Fischer near Kelso Lake Road north of Athol for an out of state warrant Tuesday night.
Fischer was able to elude law enforcement and has not been located.
The Marshals Service says Fischer is a white man, 5′ 10″, 200 lbs. with blonde hair and hazel eyes. The marshals say he is also known to dress as a woman.
According to marshals, Fischer was arrested in 2022 in Hernando County, Florida for attempting to meet a minor lured over the internet. Marshals say Fischer had condoms, lube, rope, narcotics, and other sexual items.
During his 2024 trial while out on bond, Fischer did not appear for the second day of his trial and has been on the run since.
The Marshals Service says Fischer was convicted in absentia and, when captured, will be returned to Florida for sentencing.
