KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — A Hayden man was arrested for stealing multiple canoes and a bicycle Wednesday morning.
According to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, 40-year-old Ryan Irwin was seen stealing a bicycle at a home on Hayden Lake around 7:30 a.m.
The victim told deputies Irwin claimed to be running from the cops, which was not true at the time.
KCSO said Irwin then went on to steal a canoe from another home, paddled to a third location and stole a second canoe.
Deputies found Irwin, but he tried to flee when confronted.
Irwin was arrested for grand theft and resisting arrest.
All the stolen items were returned to its owners.
