LEWISTON, Idaho — The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office closed the southbound lanes of US Highway 95 near Genesee, Idaho on Friday afternoon. The Sherriff’s office reported multiple crashes in the area during a dust storm. It’s one of many impacts of the high winds around the LC Valley and Palouse. Monitor traffic alerts in Idaho here.
The National Weather Service in Spokane reported tree damage with isolated power outages in Latah, Idaho and Nez Perce counties.
Air quality dropped to moderate starting around midday in places downwind of blowing dust like Lewiston and Potlatch. Air quality monitors dropped into the unhealthy range in Juliaetta and Lapwai around 3 p.m. Monitor air quality here.
Dust and wind advisories remain in effect through the late afternoon.
