SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane County Medical Examiner has determined the causes of death for three people recently killed in separate traffic crashes.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office says 15-year-old Elijah Mendoza was driving too fast for conditions when he lost control of a truck September 2 on North Madison Road in Mead.

Mendoza died at the scene. The Medical Examiner says he died of blunt force injuries and ruled his death accidental.
The ME says 19-year-old Jonathan Lew also died of blunt force injuries when he crashed his motorcycle September 18 in North Spokane. Lew and another vehicle crashed around 6 p.m. near Division and Cleveland Avenue.

Another motorcyclist, 60-year-old Denis Moore, crashed August 29 on East Sprague Avenue and South Freya Street. Moore’s death was also ruled accidental and due to blunt force injuries.

The recent string of motorcycle deaths has prompted concerns from the rider community.
