AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — If you missed the last round of Airway Heights Free Dump Days in August, don’t worry, because the city is bringing them back!
From Saturday, September 28 – Monday, October 7, you can drop off old appliances, garbage and yard waste at the Spokane Waste to Energy Facility (2900 S. Geiger Boulevard) at no cost.
The offer is available to Airway Heights residents who are Waste Management customers.
Eligible participants can make two free drop-offs during the week.
Vouchers are required to make the drop-offs and can be picked up at Airway Heights City Hall (13120 W. 13th Avenue), Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. They are closed daily from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Free Dump Days are a great way to clean out and refresh your space, while disposing of unwanted items safely and properly.
Acceptable drop-off items include:
Household garbage (must be bagged)Clean green (grass, leaves, plant trimmings and branches no larger than 3 inches in diameter and 6 inches long, wood chips and unflocked, undecorated Christmas trees) Large appliances (limit three items), such as stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, freezers, refrigerators, air conditioners and water heatersMiscellaneous items such as lawn mowers (must be fuel and oil-free), small appliances, non-reusable household junk and tires (limit 4)
Items not accepted:
Automotive waste (car batteries, fluids, autobody parts)Products containing mercury (thermometers, thermostats, fluorescent bulbs and tubes, mercury batteries and switches) Miscellaneous items such as medications, biological waste, animal carcasses, radioactive waste, sharp items, medical waste and asbestos
Loads must be no larger than a standard pickup bed and secured. The Waste to Energy Facility will assess a fee to customers who bring in unsecured/untarped loads.
