SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. — The second suspect in an August burglary was arrested in North Spokane on Thursday, according to Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
On August 10, deputies responded to a reported burglary near Altamont Street and Houghton Avenue.
The caller said she was watching the home of a relative who was on vacation and that the home was secure when she checked it on August 9.
When she returned on August 10, she said the back door was damaged and the home was ransacked.
SCSO said thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen and damaged.
An initial investigation led deputies to identify and arrest one of two suspects, 48-year-old Harry L. Autrey.
He was booked into Spokane County Jail for several outstanding charges, as well as first-degree burglary, with a bond of $100,000.
After continued investigation, the second suspect, 42-year-old James A. Schneider, was arrested near Westview Court and Nevada Street on September 12.
Schneider is a 7-time convicted felon with a history of identity theft, assault and drug possession.
He was booked into Spokane County Jail on September 13 for first-degree burglary. His bail is set at $100,000.
