If there’s one thing I love… it’s horror movies. So I think it’s time to start out #spookyszn and dive deep into the blood-soaked waters of Camp Crystal Lake.
It’s Friday the 13th, and you know what that means – time to dust off those hockey masks and machete replicas, because we’re ranking all the “Friday the 13th” movies!
We’re going to rank ’em and it’ll be based on a mix of nostalgia, sheer entertainment value, and that special something that makes a horror movie stick with you long after the credits roll. And yes, I know it’s controversial, but for me, there’s one clear winner…
#1: Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984)
Yes, you read that right. The Final Chapter takes the top spot for me, and here’s why: It’s the perfect blend of campy fun and genuine scares. They said it was the final chapter, but we all know how that turned out. Still, this one delivers the goods with some brutal kills and a satisfying ending (at least for a while). And let’s not forget Corey Feldman v Jason!
#2: Friday the 13th (1980)
The one that started it all. Yeah, it’s a bit rough but there’s no denying its impact. The twist ending alone is worth the price of admission, and it’s got that classic slasher vibe that’ll never go out of style.
#3: Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986)
This one’s a fan favorite for a reason. It’s got a great sense of humor, some awesome kills, and a resurrected Jason who’s more unstoppable than ever. Plus, that soundtrack is killer!
#4:Friday the 13th Part III (1982)
We get Jason’s iconic hockey mask for the first time, some truly memorable kills (that eye-popping 3D scene haha), and a final showdown that’ll have you on the edge of your seat. Plus, it’s just so 80s, in the best possible way.
#5: Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981)
Jason’s first official outing as the killer, and he doesn’t disappoint. It’s got that gritty, backwoods feel that makes it stand out from the rest.
#6: Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988)
Telekinetic teens vs. Jason? Yes, please! Cheesy but fun
#7: Freddy vs. Jason (2003)
Okay, so it’s not technically a “Friday the 13th” movie, but two horror icons going head-to-head? I’ll take it.
#8: Friday the 13th (2009)
The remake. It’s not bad, but it doesn’t quite capture the originals. Still, it’s got some decent kills and a fast pace that keeps you entertained.
#9: Jason X (2002)
Jason in space! It’s as ridiculous as it sounds, but hey, sometimes you just need a good, dumb horror movie.
#10: Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)
This one’s a bit of a mess, but it’s got its moments. Seeing Jason stalk the streets of New York is kinda fun, even if the execution isn’t perfect.
#11: Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985)
The infamous “fake Jason” movie. It’s not terrible, but it’s definitely not one of the best.
#12: Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993)
Yeah, this one’s a bit of a mess. And the early 90’s graphics are kinda funny.
