Melissa McCarthy, Clive Owen To Play JonBenét Ramsey Parents In Series

Paramount+ has announced a limited series about the unsolved murder of JonBenét Ramsey, with Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen set to play the child beauty pageant contestant’s parents. The eight-episode series, with the working title JonBenét Ramsey, will be executive produced by showrunner Richard LaGravanesse and McCarthy, among others. JonBenét was found dead on Dec. 26, 1996, with evidence of strangulation and asphyxiation. Her parents, Patsy and John Bennett, were cleared of charges in 2008, but the case remains unsolved. The series will cover events before and after JonBenét’s death, with production taking place in Calgary. (UPI)
