COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Police are investigating threats to shoot up a local school made by a middle schooler on Monday.
According to CDA Police Department, a 14-year-old student at Lakes Middle School told several other students he was going to “shoot up the school” on Tuesday.
CDAPD said they met the student and his parents at their home and that the student has been suspended from school until the investigation is finished.
Police said they do not believe the student has access to any guns and that there is no active threat to Lakes Middle School students.
CDAPD said all similar types of threats will be investigated and appropriate criminal charges will be filed.
They also said anyone who hears threats made to students or staff at any local school should contact the police.
