SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – A suspect who threatened to kill residential home staff and tried to hit a Spokane Valley police deputy has been arrested.
According to Spokane Valley Police, 28-year-old Joshua A. Graham was throwing things around, causing a disruption and threatening to kill staff and law enforcement at a residential home on East Cataldo Avenue Monday afternoon.
After making the threats, Graham left the home. Police tried to stop Graham on North Fox Road, but he continued to walk away from the police car.
Deputies told Graham he couldn’t keep walking. Graham said he was experiencing psychosis and delusions and said he did not want to go to Eastern State Hospital.
SVPD said the deputy tried to grab Graham’s arm to stop him from leaving. At that time, Graham turned and threw a punch toward the deputy’s face.
Another deputy grabbed Graham’s arm and took him to the ground.
Graham was booked into Spokane County Jail for third-degree assault and malicious mischief charges.
Neither Graham nor the deputies were hurt.
