SPOKANE, Wash. — Patients may have a hard time accessing medical records as a global tech outage is impacting local hospitals.

Both Providence Sacred Heart and MultiCare Deaconess confirming that the outage which is hitting banks, airlines, and more is affecting them as well.
MultiCare said all elective surgeries at Deaconess and Valley hospitals have been postponed. Emergency and urgent procedures can still go ahead safely.
Appointments at its Rockwood Clinic between 7-9 a.m. have been rescheduled.
MultiCare patients impacted by the outage will be contacted.
In a statement, Providence said its teams are working to restore functionality to its electronic health record software, but other applications and workstations are impacted.
