Does anyone else feel like weekends are busier—and more exhausting—than the work week? This past weekend was nonstop for us, but we made some great memories along the way.
Saturday: Carousel Adventures
We kicked off Saturday with a birthday party at Riverfront Park. The parents rented a room at the carousel, and the best part? Unlimited ride wristbands for everyone! Watching the kids’ faces light up as they spun around was the highlight of my day. Afterward, I had my heart set on dinner at Chili’s (hello, Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers), but it was way too crowded. We ended up grabbing something quick on the way home instead.
Sunday: Toddler Time at Get Air
Sunday morning started early—no surprise with our little ones! I recently heard from another mom about Toddler Time at Get Air in Northtown Mall, and we decided to check it out. From 8 to 10 a.m., the trampoline park is reserved just for toddlers, making it the perfect outing for our early risers. The kids had a blast burning off energy, and we got to enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere without the big kids zipping around.
Afterward, we strolled through the mall, and guess what? I finally got my Chili’s fix! My beloved Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers and a margarita were worth the wait.
By the end of the weekend, I was completely worn out, but isn’t that what weekends with kids are all about? Busy schedules, tired feet, and full hearts. Here’s to making memories—even if it means we need another weekend to recover from the weekend!
