DAVENPORT, Wash. — A 5,800-acre wildfire that has burned almost two dozen homes in the Davenport area is now 40% contained.
Fire crews continued to build containment lines and noted a dramatic reduction in fire activity Tuesday night. Crews also reported very little material left to burn along the fire line.
Crews will continue work along the fire line and will begin working around structures within the fire perimeter. They will also work to properly handle and secure culturally significant resources in the repair effort.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, evacuations have also been reduced for the area. Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuations are still in place within the fire perimeter. LCSO says crews are busy mopping up the area and hope to be able to lower evacuations further soon.
