BOISE — Law enforcement across the Inland Northwest and surrounding areas will be ramping up speed patrols next week.
According to the Idaho Transportation Department, law enforcement agencies across Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Montana and Alaska will be increasing patrols to try and catch speeding drivers from July 20 through July 26.
Coordinated patrols will take place across state lines during that time. Drivers should expect to see an increased law enforcement presence wherever summer travel plans may be.
ITD says so far this year, 126 people have died on Idaho roads. This is up from the 113 fatalities at this time last year.
Drivers are reminded to follow speed limits, allow extra travel time and adjust their speed for weather and traffic conditions.
