CHENEY, Wash. — EWU football kicked off fall camp on Tuesday.
Head coach Aaron Best had one piece of advice following practice.
“Be different,” Best said.
The Eagles are coming off back-to-back losing seasons for the first time in 30 years.
“We got to get away from who we were,” Best said. We are not that. That was then. This is now. We’ve got to adopt that mindset. We will be different from coaches to players.”
EWU has just seven wins over the past two seasons and were picked to finish 8th in the Big Sky Coaches’ Poll.
That’s not good enough for pre-season All-American wide receiver Efton Chism III.
“Especially with the last two seasons not going the way we wanted, we want to get things going and be able to just get back to what Eastern football is,” Chism said.
EWU opens the season on August 29 at home against Monmouth.
