SPOKANE, Wash. — Santa’s reindeer made a special stop in Kendall Yards this weekend, kicking off the Winter Festival with holiday activities for families.
This weekend marked the debut of the Winter Night Market, part of the Winter Festival, featuring vendors like Helmer Noel from Mountain Top Mentality.
“It has been absolutely wild,” Noel said.
Noel shared that while their business thrives online, events like this offer a unique opportunity to connect with customers face-to-face, boosting sales and spreading the word about their mission.
“I think, being able to tell your story along with being in front of the person kind of really helps because we have our national park handles where we’re giving back to the parks and then our other apparel and stuff helps us as a small business just grow. So being able to convey that to people really, really helps,” Noel said.
The market won’t be back next week but returns on the weekend of Dec. 12.
The neighborhood is already decked out with festive activities, including reindeer visits and appearances by Santa Claus.
Kendall Yards storefronts are also seeing a boom in customers, like the new Spokane Olive Oil on Summit Parkway.
“And we’re brand new. So really it’s about getting the word out there and letting people know that we’re here. People try the product. They buy it, they come back, they buy more,” said Mitchell Moczulski from Spokane Olive Oil.
Every Saturday until Christmas at 7 p.m., a firework display will light up near the Monroe Street Bridge.
Other festive activities in Kendall Yards will continue until Christmas, and light displays are lighting up the neighborhood in Spokane. See here for schedules.
